Kathryn Gerhardt was born in Tennessee, spent her childhood outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and returned to Tennessee where she attended The University of Tennessee. Passionate about the arts, she moved to New York City to pursue her passions as an actress, artist and photographer.

After several trips to Ireland, she began painting the megalithic symbols that appear on the stones in County Meath. These paintings evolved from simple designs, to creating fantasy worlds with the symbols and a series of oil paintings of the stones themselves.

In 2013, she embarked on the Sentinels of Manhattan Project. She is in the process of walking every street in Manhattan to photograph all the architectural faces embedded in the buildings.

Kathryn has had shows in Ireland and New York, has been featured in the Irish Independent and she continues to make her home in New York City.

She has finished photography for the book, "Manhattan's Little Secrets," by John Tauranac to be published by Globe Pequot Press August 15, 2018.
