Went out yesterday for the first time in a week since I twisted my ankle. What's been great about this project is the way New Yorker's stop me to ask what I'm doing. I'm usually focusing straight up and my fellow New Yorkers can't figure out what someone who appears to be a tourist is doing. Once I let them know, they usually tell me they never noticed these faces either. Yesterday, I was taking pictures of gargoyles when a security guard from the building behind me said, "I was wondering what you were taking pictures of and I looked up and realized there were gargoyles up there. All these years and I never noticed." I don't know how many times this has happened and it thrills me because people usually walk away saying they'll be looking out for them from now on.
